My apologies for being late in getting the quiz answers back to you on Saturday as promised, but as many of you know, professors seldom keep their word on returning assignments. My excuse? I spent the weekend consulting with the president on the giving of Noble Prizes to journalists.
Anyway, here are your answers to last week’s quiz.
Grade yourself on how you did. On the Honor System, 24 points maximum.
Top row, left to right: Mazie Hirono, Senator, Democrat, Hawaii; Brian Schatz, Senator, Democrat, Hawaii.
Second row, left to right: Patty Murray, Senator, Democrat, Washington; Maria Cantwell, Senator, Democrat, Washington.
Third row, left to right: Ron Wyden, Senator, Democrat; Oregon; Jeff Merkley, Senator, Democrat, Oregon.
Fourth row, left to right: Kamala Harris, Senator, Democrat, California; Diane Feinstein, Senator, Democrat, California.
By now I suppose you suspect what I’m up to. Yes, all four of these Pacific states have Democratic senators, eight in all. And you will remember that Quiz #1 revealed that the same states had four Democratic governors. Not a Republican to be found in either office on the “Left Coast.”
Note also the racial and gender mix in this new Nation, Pacifica, made up of four former states. Why are we still tethered to loser states like Alabama and Indiana? Time for Pacifica to go its own way. Peacefully.
I’ll be posting more about Pacifica soon.
